Days 1-2: USA or Canada / Nairobi , Kenya

Day 3: Nairobi / Samburu Game Reserve
Fly to the Samburu Game Reserve in Kenya's Northern Frontier District, arriving in time for lunch and a late-afternoon game drive. Samburu Intrepids Club/Larsen's Camp B L D

Days 4-5: Samburu Game Reserve
Spend two days exploring the semi-desert Samburu. On morning and afternoon game drives, search for species unique to northern Kenya such as reticulated giraffe, Grevy's zebra, beisa oryx, Somali ostrich, vulturine guinea fowl, the graceful, longnecked gerenuk and, with luck, the elusive leopard stalking the banks of the Uaso Nyiro River. Day 6: Samburu / Masai Mara Game Reserve
This morning fly to the This morning fly to the Masai Mara, the Kenyan portion of the Greater Serengeti ecosystem, with game viewing this afternoon. Olonana B L D

Days 7-8: Masai Mara Game Reserve
The Mara contains Kenya 's richest concentrations of wildlife, supplemented for several months of the year by migrant herds. On game drives in the heart of this classic grassland savannah, view migrating herbivores and their predators - lion, cheetah and leopard. Also visit a Maasai village and, perhaps, take an optional hotair ballooning excursion or flight to Lake Victoria . On the final evening here, dine on the banks of the Mara River . Olonana B L D

Day 9: Masai Mara / Nairobi / Arusha , Tanzania / Ngorongoro Crater

Day 10: Ngorongoro Crater
Explore this "lost world," breaking at midday for a picnic lunch. Look for elephant, flamingo, buffalo, lion, antelope and the highly endangered black rhino, and perhaps encounter Maasai herdsmen with their cattle, who continue to exist here as they have for centuries. Day 11: Ngorongoro Crater / Serengeti National Park
Today fly to the Serengeti, home to many species including zebra, gazelle, lion, leopard, hyena, giraffe, elephant and buffalo. During the annual migration, vast numbers of wildebeest move across the plains. This afternoon you may encounter this amazing display during a drive. Kusini Camp B L D

Days 12-13: Serengeti National Park
Spend two days of morning and afternoon game viewing in this expansive region, which has been a protected animal refuge since 1929. One evening, enjoy sundowner cocktails on a kopje (rocky outcropping)overlooking the Serengeti plains. Spend time with fellow travellers at this evening's farewell dinner. Kusini Camp B L D

Day 14: Serengeti / Arusha / USA or Canada
